Backtracking a bit...all love begins in Paris
I am working on posting our France pictures and figured I should fill you in. justin and I took a long overdue/much needed/almost mandatory honeymoon. We spent 3 action-packed days in Paris...saw almost everything we could see...walking, biking, bus riding at breakneck speed, barely eating (the exchange rate was ridiculous -- drinking was out of the question!), stuffing our faces with crepes when we couldn't stand it anymore... we'd go to bed at midnight and wake up at 9 or 10am -- the time difference (and possibly lack of a real vacation for 3 or more years) was killing us. It was like vacation-on-crack.
We did see Paris from almost every medium -- bike tour, bus tour, boat tour, walking tours...rain/shine...morning/night... with blisters and without. Um, none of the "farmacias" are freakin' open on Sunday or Monday. Don't get a blister on those days.
We left Paris on a Tuesday for the hopefully sunnier coast of France -- we stayed in Villafranche, a little (and I do mean little) town outside of Nice. We slllllllllloooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeddddddd the pace down quite a bit. We were in a 2 bedroom villa overlooking the Bay of Nice... (www.rivieraexperience.com in case you want to visit)...and we were able to buy groceries (and FINALLY some reasonably priced WINE) and make breakfasts and dinners..
As a side note, 3 Euro wine is excellent. I think we downed a bottle a night. unusual, at least for me.
We went into Nice itself -- LOVE that cute little old town and i think I tried to singlehandedly support their economy with my purchase...we also toured Jean Cap Ferrat...and took a train into Ventimiglia (italy) and Monaco. I promise that we slept in and lounged around...
I'm working on updating all the pictures - if this works, there shoudl be a link near this entry. We'll see.
