ummm...misinterpreted?
Funny, funny signs in Japan. This one was hilarious. Of course, that's exactly what we were doing...dragging along big ol' backpacks to the New Sanno (military hotel) in Tokyo.
On possibly the rainiest day in Japan yet.
We spent Sunday and Monday in Tokyo for a belated birthday celebration. I worked in the ER for the first time on Friday and saturday nights...remind me to tell people with "funny bruises" to stay home..and then we took the train into the big city.
It really is a big city.
We saw a very small part of it...we walked and walked from the hotel (which, by the way, is the best $48 per night i'll EVER spend - SUCH a nice place)...into an area called Shibuya (trendy, young), Harajuku (trendier), and Shinjuku (who the heck knows? it was all so different!)...
Amen to 7-11 for selling umbrellas. It rained like it meant it.
Found Dean and Deluca lattes. Attempted to try on Japanese clothing -- stopped when the North Face jacket was $250. Okay...catalog shopping it is....
Had great sushi and sashimi in town and then 90 cent sundaes back at the hotel. Doesn't get better than that...
There will be more visits to the New Sanno and to Tokyo. I have a hair appt there next week -- there WILL be more pictures.
