Now, I know it looks like I am having WAY too much fun, but don't be fooled...I'm working hard! And i do miss Justin. We would have such a great time here together...

And may I just add that he wastes NO time without me...a week long SKI TRIP in Northern Japan (pictures to come), a boyscout "Klondike" campout and a health and fitness YOGA night with the Navy Spouse club. Rough gig.

My time here is slowly coming to a close -- I'll be back home in Japan next week. It has been such a wonderful array of adventures ... both medical and not. This place has the ability to really throw you out there on your last leg (medically speaking) and with that has come basically a whole island full of responsibility and to some regard, recognition. (Well, I can't run anywhere any more without a "hey doc!")...And then there is a bit of a leash that comes with being the senior medical officer....hard to be 20 miles away and "close by" if someone tries to day....

Also, there is this lovely and irreplaceable comaraderie amongst the junior and senior leadership. I mean, what am I going to do without Tuesday night Wing night with a live band and good wine and hilarious company!!

I've had some interesting gains in perspective on being one of few women on the island. Close encounters of the drunk kind...and mind you, I wasn't drunk. Sheesh. And the drinking is, well, out of control generally...can we say "Alpha Delta Diego Garcia"?! HYSTERICAL!

Anyway, there will be more to tell. Definitely more pictures...can't upload worth a darn around here.
