It's the kind of meal that makes you...

Now, it really isn't like me (or my cute husband, as it were) to turn down food...but duck tongue? Well, we'll be re-thinking that in the future. The food in front of us includes congee (a thick, porridge like soup), some unknown vegetable root (to the far right), fish (lots of bones!) and garlic, and in the chopsticks...duck tongue. Doesn't it look like a duck's tongue? EEEKster!

So our trip to Hong Kong - 6 fabulous days -- was really spectacular. KNown for its cosmopolitan-ness, it's east-meets-west flavor, weird food and incredible shopping, HK is really a city anyone can enjoy (I should really write travel books, don't oyu think?). It's a little smoggy. And well, it's urban planning could have been a LITTLE bit better, but it's transportation system is fantastic and it's hard to beat the fact that well, most of what you buy is made in CHina ...so heck, might as well buy at the source.

Justin had a suit made. I bought cashmere (i LOVE cashmere). We bought books -- yes, books...at a bookstore with english books in it! (it means a lot when you live in Japan full time).

I was there to present about our Japanese internship program at the International Family Medicine conference, which was a great experience. I'm always motivated by those conferences. There was plenty of time for fun after - with plenty of time to burn holes in the wallet!

enjoyed the "Star Ferry" rides...back and forth across HK bay -- really the weather cooperated nicely, even if it was a little warm. Looking forward to going back. Might make it a girls trip next time.
